About Us

What is fincrime dot org?

"fincrime dot org" is a web site that has been designed primarily for fraud investigators as a networking and reference site. At the same time it addresses the publics need for some education in the areas of online fraud and basic home computer security and safety. To these ends it is comprised of two components; the public component that you are viewing on this page and the pages that can be accessed from here without a password, and the private "members only" component that is only open to police/law enforcement officers and major corporate security officers/investigators.

The site is the creation of, and is maintained by two police detectives. It was their experience that there is little in the way of specialized training available to police officers in online investigations, and felt that an online resource was needed. This site is not intended for the discussion of ongoing files, however, it will offer a forum in which to discuss and learn techniques and skills related to;

  • online internet investigations
  • fraud
  • scams
  • and other "financial crime" related offences.

Additionally we intend to provide links to a variety of sites, tools and educational materials that will be useful to you in the course of your investigations.

If you are a police/law enforcement officer, Military Police, Crown Counsel/District Attorney, Government Regulator or major corporate security officer we encourage you to become a member. The site is offered as a secure environment in which to openly discuss all types of online investigations and there is no cost to join. We know you will find this site to be a valuable resource and we look forward to sharing our experiences with you as much as we hope you will share your experience with us.
